Crawling insect traps – will spider traps work?

Q: Can I use spider traps for any crawling insects?

My apartment in Mobile has many different bugs: silverfish, mites, cockroaches and water beetles in addition to spiders. I want to get rid of these nasty crawling critters, but I am not sure what to use. I’ve seen silverfish control trap, and of course roach traps. I can hardly afford to purchase 3 different traps and can’t imagine what my floor would look like covered in traps of all shapes and sizes.

I already get a great deal on spider traps from TrapsDirect.com and they work quite well.. I just wonder if I need the others?

A: Spider Traps are the same as Crawling Insect Traps

Marta, we’ve looked at the pictures of the TrapsDirect Spider Traps and the front of the trap actually says “Spider & INSECT Trap”. After contacting TrapsDirect in Atlanta, they let us know that their traps were actually designed to work with any type of insect.

“While spiders are the most common insect home owners are looking to control, we also knew that from ants to roaches any crawling insect would be controlled with the safe, pesticide free, disposable item # Spider-Trap-4 ”

In fact we found an impressive spider trap review and picture that shows a CockRoach, some type of worm and a Brown Recluse all caught on a “Virtual Wall” spider trap. Pretty impressive… We’ll explore the idea of Spider Trap Virtual Wall in another post.
